Trying for a Beauty and not the Beast look while you travel

When you travel your routine is out of whack. That’s a given. More than likely you are eating out at least once a day, if not more. Your exercise regime may be out the window and I know, when I travel, my healthy eating usually is. I justify eating ALL the foods by saying ‘I may never be back here’! One thing I feel I can have some control over is the products I use to take care of my skin when I am away from home.

Obviously, if you are on a sun soaking, cocktails by the pool tasting, local cuisine sampling, bug infested kinda trip your skin is being exposed to new conditions.

I am not a beauty blogger. At all. I am motivated by tips that will help my skin to not become unrecognisable while I am away from my tried and tested favourites.

I need a moisturiser that will prevent my face drying out when I am in the sun. I need a shampoo and conditioner that will not leave my hair frizzy or lank. I need something to help soothe my skin when I, inevitably, get bug bites abroad. Just thinking of the inevitable bug bites makes me sad. And reapplying the spray and the unsightly and itchy skin situation. Ugh. I, however, do not follow beauty trends and could not tell you which moisturiser is the best. I use what I use.

My standard travel washbag is always ready to go,  in my suitcase, filled with a mini shampoo, conditioner, cleanser, moisturiser with SPF, dry shampoo, and mini body oil and lip balm. As well as the usual toothbrush and toothpaste, razor and deodorant minis. Packing for a sun trip requires extras like suntan lotion, exfoliator, bug spray, bug bite aftercare, and antiseptic cream in case things go pear-shaped altogether. Thank you, Boots.

So, you can imagine my delight to discover Human + Kind at a recent #IrishBloggerAssociation meet up. This Irish company has a natural skincare line and a fab product they are sure will help out with all your minor skin problems like pimples, sunburn, eczema, rashes, and..BUG BITES! I was EXCITED!

I zoned in on their travel sized products, especially the cleanser with a free face cloth and also their Family Remedy Cream (anti-bug bite cream I am renaming it!) immediately as those, I felt, would be most relevant for me. They do carry a shampoo and conditioner, body souffle, a body oil to rival Bio Oil and a moisturiser among many others.

Check out their website for the full product range and see for yourself. PLUS I can offer you a 50% discount on your purchases online, valid until the end of May. HUZZAH!! Enter the coupon code BLOGGER and mention in the comments that you got the code from #mysuitcasediaries. Simples.  I am really looking forward to checking these products out so watch my instastories for an update and use my discount code if you’re already convinced!

As always, all opinions are my own. Check out here for ingredients info. Some products contain Tea tree oil so watch out if you are allergic to that and some contain bee pollen extracts so read ingredients carefully if you are vegan. I was given three products to trial at the Irish Blogger Asociation event including Family Remedy Cream, hand lotion and face wash.
